Why a Web Site?

The two primary reasons to build a web site are:

1) Increase Sales

An internet  site can bring increased sales and visibility to your company, or it can be a sinkhole that drains cash and and resources from more important activities.

Before launching a site project you should decide what you want to do;

1) Publicize your books and send orders to Amazon, thus saving you the headache of fulfillment or

2) Publicize your books and refer customers to retail stores that stock your titles or

3) Sell directly to buyers for the higher profit margins on direct sales, sales to foreign customers, and to build a customer list.

2) Cut Costs

Publishers can cut costs of responding to customer inquires by making information available on the web. What costs? The cost to answer the phone, write the letter and mail the information to the customer or vendor.
