Observation:

You do not have to spend a lot of money for a good web site.

We have seen a publisher spend about $30K on a web site that was far better and launched faster than another publisher's site which cost $400K+ and took over 1 year to go live.

The key is to develop a site plan before approaching a design firm.

Furthermore, after launching a site you must market it. If no one can find it then it can not generate additional sales.

Your web site should serve as a resource for reviewers and resellers. Post a downloadable price list. Offer downloadable author bios, reviews, and author pictures for magazine articles.
