Software for:
Small Publishers |
Medium Publishers | Large Publishers
Publishers with $50 million to $1
billion in sales will find that four companies;
IBS Bookmaster, Klopotek, SAP and Publishing Technology
(formerly known as Vista), dominate the English
language market for book publishing software.
Virtusales is a relatively new competitor that has
secured sales at several major publishers.
From our point of view,
IBS Bookmaster is strongest in warehouse
and distribution management,
Klopotek is strongest in editorial and production management,
Publishing Technology is strongest in online book marketing and
digital publishing, and
SAP is the most customizable solution.
Virtusales is known for its ease of use and project management
success.

of the most robust software as a service solutions for publishers.
Opinion: We do not recommend software solutions
that are being phased out.
That said, we are excited about the replacement for CisPub; The
Media Services Group's Élan software based on our experience
with the Élan Rights & Royalties module. Élan Rights & Royalties is
powerful, easy to use, web based and closely integrated with the
Microsoft Office suite of products.
If the other forthcoming modules in Élan are just as good as
their Rights & Royalties module then IBS Bookmaster, Publishing
Technology and Klopotek
will have a new competitor.

Opinion:
We like SAP for its ability to integrate all aspects of a
world-wide operation. It offers unparalleled customizability along
with powerful productivity and management
tools for publishers.
